In light of a recent and important discovery, we feel compelled to address a crucial safety concern that has recently come to our attention.
It has been brought to our notice that a customer encountered machine damage while attempting to shred an 3D printed object with a solid 10mm thick wall for an extended duration after disabling the “Persistent Jam Detection” feature. This feature serves as a critical component of the machine’s safety design, aiming to protect the equipment and prevent potential damage.
We strongly advise against disabling the “Persistent Jam Detection” feature, especially when shredding materials with solid thick walls between 5mm to 10mm for an extended period. Doing so may lead to damage to the machine and compromise its functionality.
In response to these findings, our dedicated engineering team is actively working on a comprehensive software update. This update will not only incorporate enhanced safety measures but will also consider the removal of the option to disable “Persistent Jam Detection” altogether. We assure you that the jam detection interval option, allowing you to adjust how often the system checks for potential issues, will still be retained.
Until the software update is released, we earnestly urge all our customers to refrain from disabling the “Persistent Jam Detection” feature on the Polystruder GR PRO plastic shredder. Always monitor the machine during shredding and do not leave it unattended for a prolonged period. Failure to heed this warning may result in voiding your warranty and incurring costly repairs.
