Rotate and place the barrel vertically on work surface.
Feeder mouth should be on top side.
Place the heat deflector disc and align with the holes located on barrel.
Place the square barrel flange and align it with the defector disc and barrel holes.
Apply a dash of Loctite 262 on a M5-12mm countersunk screw.
Place the screw on any hole. Do not tighten it fully yet! Repeat this process for all holes. *Once all the screws are placed fully tighten them diagonally by following the each number group in order.
*Tip: First tighten the 2 screws marked as number 1 and then next 2 screws marked as number 2 and then next 2 screws marked as number 3. Order is not important as long as they are tightened in paired diagonal groups.
Step 2: Compression screw assembly

Place the compression screw and compression screw shaft adapter on a flat surface.
Join them together by pushing the compression screw through the hex hole located on compression screw shaft adapter.
Lay down the barrel assembly on a flat surface.
Insert the compression screw assembly starting from the compression screw shaft adapter side through the nozzle mountside of the barrel.
Insert the compression screw assembly all the way in. It should look like in the picture.

Insert the compression screw installation tool through the barrel nozzle mouth and center it to the compression screw.
Place and tighten the nozzle all the way with hand only as much as you can. DO NOT USE ANY TOOLS!
There should be a few mm spacing between the nozzle and barrel. The purpose is here to compressing the nozzle all the way back to the square barrel flange to allow a better installation.
Check if the compression screw shaft adapter is protruding similar as shown to the picture. It should be difficult to turn with bare hand.
Step 4: Thrust bearing assembly

Insert the shaft collar through the screw shaft assembly. If it does not fit, loose the 2 screws slightly that is holding it together.
Push the shaft collar all the way in until it touches the wall of the step contour of the compression screw shaft assembly.
Fully tighten the 2 screws on the shaft collar to hold it in that position while the shaft collar is touching to the step contour.
Insert one steel thrust bearing washer to the compression screw shaft assembly.
Insert the steel thrust bearing to the screw shaft assembly.
Insert the last steel thrust bearing washer to the screw shaft assembly.
Push the thrust bearing components all the way inside to the screw shaft assembly.

Use the feeder mouth as a guide to place the screws in correct holes.
Insert 2 pieces of M6-40mm socket head screws to the marked barrel flange holes. These are only for used to assist assembly process. We will remove them later.
Insert 2 pieces of M6-100mm socket head screws through marked barrel flange holes.
Insert 4 pieces of 16mm aluminum spacers through the thrust bearing aligner. It might take a little bit of force to properly insert them.

Use the feeder mouth as a guide to place the components in correct position.
Insert 3d printed thrust bearing aligner.
Check if the thrust bearing aligner is inserted in correct position and alignment.
Insert the correct tainless steel shaft housing part in correct position and alignment.
Insert 2 pieces of M6 nylock nuts and tighten them fully. We will remove and use them again later in another step.

Place the larger 5mm shaft key through the keyway hole in correct position.
Insert the 14mm shaft coupler hub to the compression screw shaft adapter by aligning the keyway holes. You may need to loosen the shaft coupler hub slightly and apply a bit force.
Insert the shaft coupler spacer tool.
Properly align the spacer tool with shaft coupler hub.
Hold and apply pressure between shaft flange and shaft coupler to place it in correct position.
While holding and applying pressure secure the shaft coupler with allen key.
Remove the spacer tool. We will use it again.

Insert 2 pieces of 25mm aluminum spacers on each hole to create a 50mm long hollow screw shaft located on 3d printed top and bottom barrel assembly shaft holders.

TAKE EXTRA ATTENTION when placing screws to the barrel flange holes in this section. FAILURE TO DO SO CAUSE PROBLEMS LATER IN ASSEMBLY PROCESS AND YOU HAVE TO REVERSE IT!
Grab a 120mm blower fan and put the nozzle side of the extrusion barrel to assist by raising it during assembly process.
Remove the 2 pieces of M6 nylock nuts and M6-40mm socket head screws.
Insert 1 piece of M6-100mm socket head screw through marked barrel flange hole. PAY ATTENTION to place it in correct hole or it will cause issues in later.

Insert the shaft coupler spacer tool.
Insert and align the shaft coupler disc to the 14mm shaft coupler hub.

Step 10: Nema 23 motor assembly

DO NOT TIGHTEN the motor shaft coupler hub to the motor shaft in this step. THIS IS IMPORTANT! It should move freely in parallel with motor shaft. We will make a few final adjustments and tightening during the final preparations section of assembly.
Place the nema 23 motor on a flat surface vertically and place the stainless steel motor housing part through the motor shaft. Align the screw holes.
TAKE EXTRA ATTENTION of placement of motor and stainless steel motor housing part by checking the wiring position of motor and stainless steel motor housing alignment.
Place 4 pieces of M5-12mm button head screw and tighten them fully diagonally.
Insert and align 12mm shaft coupler hub with keyway through the motor shaft. DO NOT TIGHTEN IT!
Insert the smaller shaft key through the keyway hole.
Push it all the way in until it is flush with motor shaft coupler hub.
Step 11: Shaft housing motor assembly - Bottom part

DO NOT TRY TO FORCE TURN THE MOTOR SHAFT TO ALIGN IT EITHER WITH HAND OR TOOL! YOU MIGHT EITHER DAMAGE THE PART, HURT YOURSELF OR BOTH!
Position the nema 23 motor assembly as shown near the barrel assembly.
Grab another 120mm blower fan and place it under the nema 23 motor assembly to assist by raising it during assembly process.
Check if the bottom M6 screws are properly aligned and sticks out through the marked holes on photo.
Slide out the top M6 screws slightly to make the assembly process easier.
Align the shaft couplers by turning from the barrel compression screw. DO NOT FORCE TRY TO TURN MOTOR. IT MIGHT DAMAGE IT!
Reposition the shaft coupler spacer tool to the side so it can be remove it later easier.
Insert 2 pieces of M6 washers and M6 nylock nuts to the 2 bottom M6 screws. TIghten them as much as you can by hand. DO NOT TIGHTEN THEM FULLY YET!
Step 12: Shaft housing motor assembly - Top part

Place and align the 3d printed top shaft housing holder.
Insert back the 2 pieces of M6-100mm socket head screws through top shaft housing screw holes while holding the top shaft housing holder.
Compress the top side of the whole shaft housing with one hand.
While compressing the top side, insert one piece of M6 steel washer and M6 nylock nut on each socket head screws located on top side of shaft housing. Hand tighten both M6 nylock nuts. DO NOT TIGHTEN THEM FULLY YET!

Carefully position the whole shaft assembly vertically on flat surface.
Test if motor shaft coupler hub is moving parallel with motor shaft slightly. You can use an allen key to move the part up and down.
Check if the motor shaft coupler is freely moving parallel to the motor shaft. You might need to use a tool like pliers or allen key to move it. We will tighten it later.
While using a plier to hold the M6 nylock nuts in place, fully tighten the first M6 socket head screw to secure the shaft housing in place. Repeat this step diagonally with other 3 screws to secure the whole shaft housing in place.
IT IS OPTIONAL TO INSTALL THE POLYMER MIXER AND MESH FILTERS FOR EXTRUDING VIRGIN (RAW) PLASTIC PELLETS UNLESS YOU ARE PLANNING TO EXTRUDE RECYCLED PLASTIC. DO NOT INSTALL THE FINE #60 MESH FILTER FOR FIRST TIME SETUP. IT IS ONLY FOR PETG EXTRUSION WHERE REQUIRED FOR HIGH EXTRUSION PRESSURE INSIDE BARREL FOR BALANCED DIAMETER EXTRUSION. IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO EXTRUDE POWDERED COLORANTS AND ADDITIVES WITH MESH FILTERS INSTALLED SINCE IT CAN CLOG VERY EASILY AND DAMAGE THE MACHINE!
Place the nozzle on flat surface.
Insert the polymer mixer filter to the nozzle and make sure it fits in place correctly.
Place the coarse #20 mesh filter.
Place the medium #40 mesh filter.
Place the filter retention ring to a proper snap ring pliers with 2mm tip diameter.
Insert the filter retention ring inside the nozzle assembly by using snap ring pliers.
Check if the filter retention ring is snug fit inside the ring channel located inner wall of the nozzle assembly.

Screw back the nozzle to the extrusion barrel by hand. DO NOT USE ANY TOOLS TO SCREW IT! We will fully tighten it later.
Make sure it is screwed all the way to the extrusion screw.
Step 17: Feeder cooler fan assembly - Preparation

Identify and place the bottom feeder cooler fan part.
You can identify the part by looking for 4 extra screw holes.
Place 4 pieces of M3-4mm heat inserts through the holes marked in photo.
Using a heat insertion method of your choice, secure the heat inserts into the holes.
Turn the bottom feeder cooler fan part upside down. Place the 75mm blower fan inside to the fan housing.
Place the top feeder cooler fan part over the bottom feeder cooler. 75mm blower fan should be between in top and bottom printed parts.
Check the alignment of the parts by looking to the exhaust opening.
Step 18: Feeder cooler fan assembly - Securing the parts

Insert and tighten 4 pieces of M3-30mm socket head screws through top feeder cooler fan part.
Insert 2 pieces of M3-35mm socket head screws through top feeder cooler fan part located at fan housing section to secure the 75mm blower fan in place.
Turn the feeder cooler fan assembly upside down and secure 2 pieces of M3 nuts to the M3-35mm socket head screws with hand.
Use a plier to grab the M3 nut in place.
While holding the M3 nut with pliers, tighten the M3-35mm socket head screw with allen key. Repeat the same process for the other M3-35mm socket head screw as well.
Identify and align the bottom hopper feeder part in correct position on a flat surface. You should be able to see 6mm 4 holes on top
Place 4 pieces of M4-9mm heat inserts through the holes and use a heat insertion method of your choice to secure the heat inserts into the holes marked in photo.
Realign the part again like shown in photo.
Place 4 pieces of M3-4mm heat inserts through the holes and use a heat insertion method of your choice to secure the heat inserts into the holes marked in photo.
Place and align the feeder cooler fan assembly on top of the bottom hopper feeder part. Check the screw holes and fan locations for correct alignment.
Insert 4 pieces of M3-12mm socket head screws through the holes located on top of the feeder cooler fan assembly and secure the parts together by fully tightening the screws.
Step 20: Hopper feeder assembly - Top hopper feeder

Realign the hopper feeder assembly in correct position on a flat surface.
Place the top hopper feeder part.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that protruding side of the top hopper feeder part should be facing top side.
Insert 4 pieces of M4-12mm socket head screws through the holes through the holes. DO NOT TIGHTEN IT FULLY YET!
Leave a large gap between bottom and top hopper feeder parts so it can easily slide in through barrel assembly. Loosen the screws if needed.
Step 21: Hopper feeder assembly - Installing to barrel

Slide in the hopper feeder assembly through the barrel assembly. Feeder cooler assembly should be on bottom side.
Check the correct position of the hopper feeder assembly. Fan exhaust should be looking the same way as feeder mouth of the barrel and 75mm blower fan should be located at the opposite side.
Now fully tighten the 4 pieces of M4-12mm screws diagonally.
Check if top hopper feeder is aligned and sitting in a flat area of the barrel feeder mouth.
Place the barrel fan shrouds on a flat surface and align them in the order as shown according to their heights.
Starting with number 1 fan shroud, place and align the 120mm blower fan on the barrel fan shroud.
Insert 3 pieces of M4 socket head screws according to the lenghts requires. Number 1 fan shroud uses 16mm length screws. Number 2 and 3 uses 12mm length screws.
Move the fan shroud on it is side and insert a M4 nuts on each screw.
Use an proper allen key and pliers to tighten the screws to secure the 120mm blower fan to the shroud. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN IT! YOU MIGHT DAMAGE THE BLOWER FAN!
Place the bottom barrel fan shrouds on a flat surface and align them again in the order as shown according to their heights.
On number 1 fan shroud insert 4 M4 heat inserts to the marked holes and secure them with the heat insertion method of your choice.
Turn the number 1 fan shroud upside down and place 2 M4 heat inserts to the marked holes and secure them with the heat insertion method of your choice.
On number 2 fan shroud insert 4 M4 heat inserts to the marked holes and secure them with the heat insertion method of your choice.
On number 3 fan shroud insert 2 M4 heat inserts to the marked holes and secure them with the heat insertion method of your choice.
On number 3 fan shroud insert 2 M3 heat inserts to the marked holes and secure them with the heat insertion method of your choice.
Step 24: Barrel cooling assembly - Installing fan shroud 1

Repeat the same process with other screw hole located on opposite side of the shroud. Then tighten the both screws fully to secure the fan shroud.
Once finished all the fan shrouds should be aligned and parallel to the barrel as shown.
Step 27: Barrel heater assembly - Band heaters assembly

Loosen the screws on each band heaters as much as you can without taking it apart.
There are 2 different length of band heaters included. One is longer, the other 2 is shorter. Take one of the short band heater.
Route the short band heater cable through the cable opening located under the barrel cooling assembly.
Slide through the short band heater through the barrel assembly. DO NOT TIGHTEN IT FULLY YET!
Repeat the same process for the other short band heater. DO NOT TIGHTEN IT FULLY YET!
This time repeat the same process for the long band heater at last. DO NOT TIGHTEN IT YET!
Check the correct order of the band heaters as shown in photo.
Step 28: Barrel heater assembly - Final alignments

Please take EXTRA ATTENTION of the correct placement and order of the band heaters. Failure to do so might results unexpected extrusion problems.
Align the band heaters by aligning the edges of each heater to the blower fan exhaust ports of the fan shrouds. Band heaters should not be inside of exhaust port areas. Also do the final check of correct order of band heaters.
Rotate each band heater where the mounting screw hardware should be at 45 degree angle inwards towards to bottom fan shroud.
Route the short band heater cable through the cable opening located under the barrel cooling assembly.
Secure the band heaters in their final location by tightening the marked screws. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THEM! DOING SO MIGHT DAMAGE THE HEATER ELEMENTS!
Step 29: Barrel heater assembly - Top fan shroud assembly

Place the top barrel fan shrouds on a flat surface and align them again in the order as shown according to their heights.
Insert 2 pieces of M3-4mm heat inserts to the marked holes and secure them with the heat insertion method of your choice.
By using this photo as guide install the top fan shrouds in correct order.
Place the top fan shroud 1 over the bottom fan shroud 1. Insert 2 pieces of M4-16mm screws on marked locations and tighten them to secure the shroud in place.
Place the top fan shroud 2 over the bottom fan shroud 2. Insert 2 pieces of M4-16mm screws on marked locations and tighten them to secure the shroud in place.
Place the top fan shroud 3 over the bottom fan shroud 3. Insert 2 pieces of M4-16mm screws on marked locations and tighten them to secure the shroud in place.
Step 30: Front barrel cover assembly

Loosen the 2 screws slightly that holding the top fan shroud 3 to make the alignment process easy.
Place the front barrel cover and align the screw holes with the fan shrouds.
Insert 4 pieces of M3-6mm screws and tighten them fully.
Tighten back the 2 screws fully that holding the top fan shroud 3.
Step 31: Motor mount assembly

Place the nema 23 motor mount on a flat surface.
Insert 2 pieces of M3-4mm heat inserts to the marked holes and secure them with the heat insertion method of your choice.
Place the barrel assembly on top of the motor mount.
Check the correct position and alignment of the motor mount relative to barrel assembly. Motor cables should be located on top side mount points of the motor mount.
Place the motor mount top cover part over where the motor cables are located.
Insert 2 pieces of M3-20mm screws and tighten them fully.
In this step we suggest you to get additional help to lift and align the barrel to the correct position. Please take EXTRA ATTENTION not to injure yourself or anyone else since it is a very heavy part that might cause harm to you or any other person that is helping you in the process.
Place the whole barrel assembly carefully on top of the frame assembly.
While moving it down slowly inspect if the mounting housings of the barrel assembly are aligned with the vertical extrusions on both sides of the frame.
Move and align the 3 vertical aluminum extrusions and brackets if needed to align the barrel in correct position on both sides of the frame.
Align the 4 pieces of M5 T-nuts to the mounting holes with the help of allen key on the left side of the machine at the bottom of the mid barrel assembly section.
Align the 1 piece of M5 T-nuts to the mounting holes with the help of allen key on the left side of the machine at the bottom of the motor mount.
Align the 4 pieces of M5 T-nuts to the mounting holes with the help of allen key on the right side of the machine at the bottom of the mid barrel assembly section.
There are 2 pieces of M5 T-nuts that is located behind the 48V PSU which might be a bit difficult to align. You can flex the PSU a little bit towards to yourself with the help of allen key to make it easier to align it with the screw holes.
Align the 1 piece of M5 T-nuts to the mounting holes with the help of allen key on the right side of the machine at the bottom of the motor mount.
Step 35: Barrel assembly installation - Securing the barrel

Align the 1 piece of M5 T-nut to the screw hole with the help of allen key on the back side of the machine at the bottom of the motor mount.
Insert 1 piece of M5-8mm socket head screw to the marked hole and tighten it fully.
Insert 4 pieces of M5-10mm socket head screws to the marked holes on the left side of the machine and tighten them fully.
Insert 1 piece of M5-8mm socket head screw to the marked holes on the left side of the machine at the bottom of the motor mount and tighten it fully.
Insert 4 pieces of M5-10mm socket head screws to the marked holes on the right side of the machine and tighten them fully.
Insert 1 piece of M5-8mm socket head screw to the marked holes on the right side of the machine at the bottom of the motor mount and tighten it fully.
Step 36: Barrel assembly installation - Securing the fan mounts

Insert 3 pieces of M4 T-nuts to the marked section near the fan screw holes on the right side of the machine. Look at the next photo and red bulletin for easier installation method.
Use the freeze and screw method for easier drop in placement of the T-nuts to the aluminum extrusion.
Align the 3 piece of M4 T-nut to the fan mount screw holes with the help of allen key.
Insert 3 pieces of M4-8mm socket head screws to the marked holes and tighten them fully.
Step 37: Barrel assembly installation - Securing the fan mounts

Slide the stepper motor controller towards to the back side of the machine to make a room for fan mount installation on the left side of the machine.
Insert 3 pieces of M4 T-nuts to the marked section near the fan screw holes on the left side of the machine to the mid aluminum extrusion using with freeze and screw method.
Align the 3 piece of M4 T-nut to the fan mount screw holes with the help of allen key.
Insert 3 pieces of M4-8mm socket head screws to the marked holes and tighten them fully.
Grab the 4 pieces of 3d printed corner brackets with heat insert holes. Look for a rectangle mark under the hole to identify them easily.
Insert 4 pieces of M4-9mm heat inserts to the each of 4 corner brackets and secure them with the heat insertion method of your choice.
Look for the 2 M4 screw holes that is located on the each end of mid frame aluminum part. These are the point where the corner brackets are going to be installed.
There is a protruding section on each corner brackets that should be positioned on the marked sides of the mid frame aluminum part.
You can also identify the correct position of installation by aligning the protruding section of the brackets to the same side where an oval cut-out is located on mid frame aluminum part.
Place 1 piece of corner bracket with heat insert to the correct position under the mid frame aluminum part and align it to the screw hole.
Place 1 piece of corner bracket on top of the mid frame aluminum part and align it to the screw hole.
Insert 1 piece of M4-16mm socket head screw. DO NOT TIGHTEN IT FULLY YET!
Check the correct position and alignment of the both corner brackets by looking for the protruding section on each of them. They should be aligned on each other. If the alignment is good tighten the M4-16mm socket head screw to secure it in place.
Repeat the same process for the other end of the same mid frame aluminum part.
Also repeat the whole step for the other mid frame aluminum part as well.
Insert 2 pieces of M4 T-nuts to the marked section near the middle section on the left side of the machine to the bottom aluminum extrusion using with freeze and screw method.
Insert 2 pieces of M4 T-nuts to the marked section near the middle section on the right side of the machine to the bottom aluminum extrusion using with freeze and screw method.
Insert 4 piece of M4 T-nuts to the 2 pieces of 590mm aluminum extrusions and position them near the center.
Place one of the mid frame aluminum part and align it correctly. Look for the oval cut-out section where it should closer to the 590mm aluminum extrusion.
Place 1 piece of M4-8mm socket head screw to temporarily secure the mid frame aluminum part in place.
Place 1 piece of M4-8mm socket head screw to temporarily secure the mid frame aluminum part in place to the other corner bracket as well. DO NOT TIGHTEN THEM FULLY YET!
Repeat the whole step for the other 590mm extrusion and mid frame aluminum part as well.
Place the one of the mid frame aluminum part and align it as shown of either left or right side of the machine.
Insert 1 piece of M5-16mm flat head screw to the front side of the frame and tighten it fully.
Insert 1 piece of M5-16mm flat head screw to the back side of the frame and tighten it fully.
Align the 2 M4 T-nuts that placed earlier on the bottom aluminum frames to the screw holes of the printed corner brackets located on mid frame aluminum part.
Insert 2 pieces of M4-8mm socket head screw. DO NOT TIGHTEN IT FULLY YET!
Repeat the whole step for the other side of the machine as well.
Step 42: Barrel assembly installation - Securing the top brackets

Loosen the 3 screws that is located on the bottom side of the back uniframe part. DO NOT REMOVE THEM COMPLETELY!
Remove the 2 screws completely that is located on the top side of the back uniframe part. Move the back uniframe part slightly outwards.
Insert 5 piece of M5 T-nuts to the inner section of the 590mm aluminum extrusion located on the left side of the machine to the marked positions on the photo.
Insert 5 piece of M5 T-nuts to the inner section of the 590mm aluminum extrusion located on the right side of the machine as well to the marked positions on the photo.
Place back the 2 pieces of M5-16mm flat head screws to the uniframe part and secure it back to it is original position by fully tightening them.
Step 43: Barrel assembly installation - Securing the top brackets

Align the 5 pieces of M5 T-nut to the mount screw holes with the help of allen key to the marked positions on the photo located on the right side of the machine.
Insert 5 pieces of M5-8mm socket head screws to the marked positions on photo and tighten them fully.
Repeat the same process for the other side of the top brackets to secure it in place as well.

Turn the machine upside down. Fully tighten all the screws marked in the photo. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE SCREWS THAT IS LOCATED ON 3D PRINTED PARTS!
Align the bottom bracket to the center point of the machine on each size and tighten the 4 marked screws fully to secure it in place.
Fully tighten 2 screws marked in the photo located on aluminum bracket near the 48V PSU.
Fully tighten 2 screws marked in the photo located on printed top PSU bracket of the 48V PSU. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE SCREWS THAT IS LOCATED ON 3D PRINTED PARTS!
Tighten the 2 pieces of M4-8mm socket head screws located on top PSU bracket to secure it in place.
